Meet Jack in 90 seconds

Horecava is the place where Jack met most of his chef friends. It’s the largest hospitality fair in the Netherlands, which takes place every year since 1957.  It’s an event that typically attracts people across the whole food industry to discover new ingredients and food innovations.

In 2020, we got to decorate a small forest shack to catch the eye of many chefs passing by. Chatting about their vegan menu while they were tasting some of our favorite jackfruit snacks. From that moment on, our jackfruit bitterballen really took off.

Fast forward to 2021 to a new world in which no physical events take place. Horecava did not give up on its yearly tradition. They took the whole event online. And naturally, we were there again. Digitally. This year's most noteworthy trend is meat substitutes and we were asked to pitch the potential of jackfruit as the next star ingredient for recreating favorite meat dishes, meat-free.
